Blackmore talks about possible Deep Purple reunion!

Ritchie Blackmore confirms that recent speculations about possible Deep Purple MK2 reunion (excluding Jon Lord, who has sadly passed away two years ago) are true. In an interview with Jeremy Vine of BBC Radio2 he hinted about possible rejoining with his former bandmates. “We’ve just talked a bit. They [Deep Purple] are on a world tour supporting their latest studio album DEEP PURPLE NOW WHAT?! So, I was like, Ok then, now what’s next?” Adds he: “I’d like to do a show or two in venues like O2 London, or MSG New York or probably a full blown world tour, who knows?”. Answering journalist’s question about his infamous feud with Deep Purple’s lead singer Ian Gillan, he also added: “Well, time has passed, we’re not that young and angry anymore, then was then and now is now. I still think that he is the best rock singer on earth, you know?”

Deep Purple are currently on a world tour supporting their latest studio album NOW What?! That topped the European charts last year and made it close to TOP10 in the world charts. The third European leg of tour begins tonight, including the allstar performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall with Iron Maiden’s frontman Bruce Dickinson, former Deep Purple member Glenn Hughes, legendary keyboardist Rick Wakeman and many more. The tour will be followed by four shows in Japan, including one show at Tokyo’s Budokan Stadium, continued by the European summer festival leg and North American (USA & Canada) leg in July/August.

Beh, non ha mica detto "in the universe!"..... non è che i Purple sono lì che lo aspettano a braccia aperte. eh? Blackmore non c'entra, ma, pesce per pesce, sarebbe stato completo se ci fosse stata la risposta entusiasta di Paice & Co.!
Certo che chi come noi vecchi in fondo in fondo un lumicino di illogica e infondata speranza ancora lo tiene semispento, sarebbe interessante vedere, se Blackmore impazzisse veramente, la reazione dei nostri. Così, tanto per immaginare.
