25 Sept. The night starts with four Scottish Dances in honour of Mr.Malcom Arnold, who is not here, because of ill. And then, Jon Lord came on the stage. Big ovation.

Two great songs from the last album “Pictures Within”. Miller Anderson and Sam Brown sing the songs very well. Big voices. On the stage all the things are doing with extremly calm, and, in the meantime, we can feel the attention that Every player put in his job. Than Ronnie Dio came out. Two songs from “The Butterfly Ball”. The best songs of that album. At the piano Eddi Hardin. Big player.

And now Ian Gillan, “The superstar” said Jon Lord. A song from Accindetally on Purpose and a Song from last album solo That’s Why God… Big interpretation. The fans start to warm up. Steve Morse came on the stage after a presentation like ” our new friend in the purple family”. The Steve Morse Band play two songs with a lot of precision. Particular music – maybe very difficult to follow. Great La Rue and great Romaine. Paicey start Wring that neck, without the guitar!!!!! There’s “The kick Horns” five guys Exceptional palyers. Jazz-blues version . Superb!!!!! Lord was dressed in a dark grey suit, compliant with him grey hairs, and looks ok for “THE MAESTRO”.

Ian P. also have a grey jacket, but under have a purple shirt. Roger is in 60’s style, with his bandanna green and a gilet. Steve classic dark pants, and no t- shirt, this time. More elegant wit a shirt. Ian G. white pants, white tunic and a gold jacket (25) and a dark jacket (26). After the interval the Concerto start. Great emotion, also for Jon Lord, we can see. There’s only some fans that cry. What a pity! Jon said something like “go to the bar to amuse You, here there are people that want to hear music”. Great Jon. “Good Jon” like a fan has write. The second movement, with Ian Gillan singing, was exceptional. A great miscellaneous of music, rock and classic, and lyrics.

Ian, once on the stage, take place in the same seat of Steve Morse, fitting a white strop to mark the two seats, one for him and one for Steve. Steve smile. I think the Concerto was performed in a great way. The London Simphony Orchestra and all the DP members was very professionals. Also Ian Gillan have a book-reset for the lyrics, in the second Movimento. So exciting. Indeed.

I never think it may be so exciting when I decided to buy the tickets, in Italy. It was a good idea. During the show a picture keep my attention: Jon Lord and Ian Paice was situated left on the stage, Jon near Ian. This two guys ARE all Deep Purple life, and all Deep Purple life is IN Jon and Ian. Thank You both for Your purple life.

And than: The Deep Purple, with the Orchestra. Ted, the new masterpiece. Played with a lot of power. Watching the sky, softly and powerful in the meantime. Sometimes I feel like screaming. (Presented like “Sometimes I feel like someone that now is at the bar to amuse himself” or nearly). Incredible. Pictures of home. Royal Albert Hall is the home for this group. After 30 years. During all this part Paul Mann, great orchestra director, take rock time with hands, smiling and Agree the DP music. Bye. Come back, boys. Smoke on the water, with all the guests and the orchestra. Also the horns. Big version. Amazing. And than, after ten minutes of cheerings, Ian Gillan came out “Sorry but Jon is gone to the bath, what can I say, we’ve finished, I’m sorry”. It’s finished.

26 Sept. The same but we know all the show and it was less emotional. But great every time. There’s TV And this show will be recorded for a Video and a CD. Emotional to be present in an official Video DP gig.

Another great night. In the afternoon there the DPAS convention2. A lot of fans and, at 5 PM Ian Gillan. Big Ian Speak with all about the Concerto of the 25 night. “We start rehersals Monday, ten hours a day…” Big week end, purple week end. For me and my friend Gianfranco. Usually with me at the DP gigs. I will thank you JON, IAN, STEVE, IAN, ROGER, for all the emotions you gave us in this week end, and in over 30 years you’ve played for us. Go on, please, and be more purple than ever. We need your music. We wait for Your next Mondial Tour.

Be sure we will follow purple star for ever.
