C'erano altri video ma non ho voluto vedere niente.. dopo quella "shadow of another day" abortita ho spento...

Orco can, dimenticavo Anya! Sarebbe ora che tornasse.

Flight of the rat è detestata da Ian Paice, per cui la vedo molto ardua come proposta live.

Dai, sul serio?! e che ne sai tu, dove l'hai letto?! :o

Su Planet Rock Radio, dopo Last Look At Eden degli Europe è partito l'intro di The Aviator.

Black Night

I took along two friends to their first Purple gig, My g/f and her brother and both were impressed.
Highway Star
The band come on with the classic and play it outstandingly, Steve Morse’s solo is blinding and Don Airey’s is stellar. Ian I though was singing well on this and there were chances here tonight this would be a landmark performance.

Things I Never Said
Never one of my faves. The band performs it well enough. Just a tad pedestrian given the choice of songs they could have put here.

Strange Kind Of Woman
The bank kick this along extremely well, Steve Morse relishing any chance to solo steps up to the mark everytime. Even Don throws in a great solo. There is minimal interplay between with Ian and Steve. It is evident here Ian just cant manage his classic screams of old at least for tonight anyway. Ian Paice just gets better with time. Roger’s bass is nicely placed in the mix. Deep Purple have always had one the best live sounds I have ever heard, it is brilliant, you don’t miss a thing,

Wasted Sunsets
A nice surprise. This has always been one of my favourites. The band plays it wonderfully. Steves solos are nice and touching and Ian puts in a great vocal Don adds just the right touches too.

Rapture Of The Deep
Another great performance, Any people doubting these guys can’t deliver anymore are housed by the musical prowess on display here. The main riff is a delight to behold live and see Steve and Don feeding off each other.
Fireball
Introduced as a ballad by Ian who still can make the audience and the band crack up with laughter, This bands humour is without doubt one of it’s most endearing qualities. Ian Paice is just amazing here nearly taking off the roof with his thunderous drumming pattern here, The rest of the band plays extremely well here and Roger enjoys his little spot in the middle.

Guitar Solo
Steve shows off his close to unlimited ability here been quiet and sensitive then loud and rocking

Sometimes I feel like screaming
Mm I can’t say I recall much of this as it went straight into
The Well Dressed Guitar
Which was very impressive, I’ve always liked this number and the band kick into overdrive after Fireball.

Mary Long
An interesting choice Ian tells us what the song is about and bang they are into it. It’s an odd choice for a live song but not that bad to witness. Ian does sing it well here.

Lazy
This is a fun one with Don doing some nice work and Ian Paice reading him perfectly.
Steve and Don are an awesome combination and compliment each other very well indeed. Ian gets to blow his harmonic here and it’s a cool blues shuffle circa the 1972 era.

No One Came
Is a good choice for a live song, It transfer tot he stage well. Very punchy. Ian has fun with his lyrics and seems to really enjoy singing it. The band locks into the pounding riff and is relentless. I always enjoy Steve's feedback drenched solo in this and strobe light really makes an impact. A personal highlight for me.

Keyboard Solo
Another highlight for me and it’s the humour of Don here that wins him my 2 friends. They were talking about when we got home. I like Don a lot and am glad he is in the band. He was close to been the star of the band tonight he seems very comfortable within the band now. His solo had some great touches of humour and he showed off why he is one of the best keyboard players around.

The Battle Rages On
I remember Ian introduced this then realised it was Dons solo spot so said any good battle is preceded by a keyboard solo. Ian was impressed too and bowed to Don as he came back onstage, This is a personal fave and they didn’t disappoint. The riff is huge and Ian sings it well. Worth the admission price alone.

Space Truckin'
Another stellar number. Ian Paice’s cymbals cut through the night air then the riff explodes, It is huge They thunder through it and the crowd lap it up.

Smoke On The Water
They play with a fire no other band can touch, There is nothing like hearing this band play it, Everyone sings at the top of their lungs to it. Steve turns in a great solo as does Don. Ian and Roger are the tightest rhythm sections on the face of the planet right now. Ian still loves to sing this and does so flawlessly

Hush
I though we might get woman from Tokyo here but we don’t it’s Hush, Not a bad song live but I can think of others I’d rather here. Don turns in a great solo and I think Ian enjoys singing it too. It’s a neat little shuffle

Bass Solo
A wonderful surprise and Roger just shines here he really goes for it and even my g/f is like GO Roger. He is very underrated and its great that you get to see how much he contributes to the band in a live performance.

Black Night
They play this extremely well. It’s the crowd love it all and sing along, Ian sings well Steve solos like mad and Don does a great solo as well. After Steve's solo he takes centre stage and has crowd interplay. He plays similar phrases from Strange kind of woman and the crowd sings it back to him Ian stands near the drums and chuckles. Is this a sign of things to come Ian has just decided he cant do it any more or is her just needing to get acclimatised to touring again. I’ll be interested in other reviews.
